When Rainey was approximately six months old we got our first introduction to sheep and to herding. Unfortunately or fortunately Rainey didn't care much for herding although I fell in love with the sport. We went to clinic after clinic trying to learn as much about herding as we could. The group of friends I made through the wonderful world of herding is what kept me going and pushing and trying and they convinced me that I should not give in to my frustrations and give up. Rainey was not totally without talent - what she didn't have in herding interest she more than made up in the obedience ring. Three years later I got another Aussie and her name is Fairoaks Renderings N Charcoal and she is called Belle. Now I realize I have the best of both worlds - I have one Aussie who excels in obedience and the other is passionate about herding - and since both obedience and herding are my passions my circle is complete!
Ron and Lynne live in Greenwood Indiana with 3 dogs, 8 cats, 10 sheep and a pond full of goldfish.
